Has Mueller descended into a black hole from which there is no escape?

The Mueller  investigation appears to be turning into a Farce. The desperate scrambling for suspects and the latest outright illegal move to gain possession of confidential transition team materials are beginning to appear almost comedic. Visions of zealous investigators armed with shovels and digging up every possible piece of loose soil comes to mind. The search for golden nuggets has yielded nothing but fools gold and rocks. How about the Tasmanian Devil whirling into the GSA, sweeping up forbidden materials, and whirling off into the void.
Having said the above, Mueller's situation has become serious and has now reached the point of illegality. Not only has he strayed far beyond his mandate, but he has now broken the law with impunity.
He has eroded his own credibility to the point of lunacy. Perhaps he is in the Twilight Zone. It is beginning to appear as though Trump's strategy may be to allow him to muddle on and to continue digging himself into a deep hole filled with public scorn and derision.
Below, there are excerpts from three different articles addressing the subject. The last one deals with, "where does Mueller go now"? They all agree that Mueller "went over the legal cliff". Will he and his hires now be investigated and brought to justice?
In the meantime, grab the popcorn and enjoy the show.

Mueller’s Desperation to Convict Trump Driving Him Over the Legal Cliff
"Entities in Russia hacked into the Democratic National Committee and helped leak damaging emails. The Obama administration and the DNC knew about the hack in the summer of 2016, but basically did nothing about it. The DNC took no action to further secure their computers, which indicates that they didn’t think the hack was that serious enough to warrant action or they just lacked the ability to further secure their computers.
Entities in Russia spent hundreds of thousands of dollars buying ads on social media in an effort to influence the 2016 US election. This only became an issue after Donald Trump won the election.
The Hillary Clinton campaign and Democratic National Committee spent around $12 million to pay for the material used to create the fake Donald Trump dossier prepared by Fusion GPS.
Only after Donald Trump won the election did Democrats suddenly become alarmed by the possibility that Trump or members of his campaign somehow colluded with entities in Russia to sway the election and consequently demanded an investigation.

They pushed for a special investigation which led to the appointment of former FBI Director Robert Mueller as Special Counsel. His task was to investigate the allegation that Russia interfered with the 2016. At the onset, Mueller repeatedly said that he was not investigating President Trump and had no intention of targeting him.
To date, there still has not been a single shred of evidence presented that Trump or his campaign directly colluded with Russia. This has driven Mueller to go after the people around Trump in hopes of finding something he can nail Trump with. Yes, it’s obvious that Mueller is targeting Trump.
However, the investigation has been backfiring on the Democrats and on Mueller. It’s been discovered that Mueller was the FBI Director when the investigation into the Uranium One Deal was covered up. That investigation implicated members of the Obama administration, the Clinton foundation and then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton."

From Allen West Republic
Special Counsel Robert Mueller Just Went ‘Over The Cliff’
"It appears that team of Special Counsel Robert Mueller has exceeded the bounds of ethical behavior and all the world sees it. The Special Counsel team, aided and abetted by the General Services Administration has secured access to all the transition files of the Trump Presidential team.
Problem number one is a violation of attorney-client privilege. Problem number two is the ability of an incoming President to plan a transition has been encumbered. Problem number three was the indiscriminate grabbing of all documents, regardless of the subject. Is that enough for you?"

The above leads into the following piece from The American Thinker
Mueller goes over the cliff
"Mueller's effort lurches unstoppably toward the abyss, while the counsel himself more and more closely resembles Captain Edward John Smith, standing rooted on the bridge while the iceberg glides inevitably closer. The Mueller team's lunge into criminality reveals exactly how desperate they've become. (And despite what you may have heard from Our Loyal Media, seizing those emails was in fact a crime – presidential transition materials remain private by federal statute. Mueller never should have been allowed near those messages.) Soon enough, they'll be accused of more crimes than anybody they're investigatingEven if Mueller were somehow to stumble across actual wrongdoing, the voting public would never, at this point, believe it. Donald Trump would have had to have been smuggling Russian nukes into New York on behalf of Tsar Vlad to justify the activities of Mueller, Comey, McCabe, Strzok, Ohr, and company. Thanks to arrogance and his willingness to hire every Clinton zombie in the federal bureaucracy, Mueller is looking at a wrecked reputation, if not the opportunity to model an orange jumpsuit. (This, unlikely though it may seem, is in no way an impossibility, since Mueller clearly has no control over his staff and no idea what tricks they've been pulling, or what they might pull tomorrow.)
So what are Mueller's alternatives? The best he can hope for at this point is to get out intact. He might attempt the tried and true "retirement for health reasons." He might deliberately trash the investigation, fire everyone in sight, and erase all the files while wailing that it's all Trump's fault. Or he could make a clean breast of it, admit that he's found nothing, file his report, and get out of Dodge while the getting's good."
