  Since the founding of America, there has long been both an intellectual and even a horrendous Civil War  regarding the rights of individual states vs a perceived tyrannical D.C overlord. It seems as though we now have a new form of defiance, local governments resisting the iron fist of their state capitals. Many California cities and a few counties are fighting against the sanctuary policies of the state capitol, which are generally perceived as threatening to citizens when applied to felons and violent criminals. Now some disgruntled Illinois residents may be starting to protest against what they consider to be an attack on the second amendment.   On the surface, McAuliffe's Statement “We lose 93 million Americans a day to gun violence" was a jaw dropper, which then morphed into a real knee slapper. However, there is an insidious underlying current regarding his statement--the lack of any reaction from the MSM, which chose not even to poke fun at his clearly off the wall statement.
