The EU has not been able to deliver the the dream world of a strong and united Europe that it was touted as being able to do. The European Union was supposed to become an economic powerhouse with open borders between its states , a common currency, and an EU "Constitution". The entire concept is falling apart and it is no wonder. The European nations are too culturally and economically diverse to be able to function as one united happy body.
