Tyranny In Oregon: Uncontrolled BLM Actions Burn Cattle Alive

There are no words for this. This is worse that the pollution caused by the EPA spill in the Animas River in Colorado. This unsupervised, uncontrolled, burn by the BLM was nothing short of irresponsible, no make that blatantly criminal, disregard for both human and animal life.

The Powers That Be flexing their vindictive muscle in their war against the Oregon ranchers, their disregard of rancher grazing rights, and their drive for complete takeover is nothing short of tyranny.

There is a video near the end of this post showing the BLM in action. The intro in the beginning lasts for a bit over three minutes. The scenes of actual burning begin around 3:58.
The occupation of the Malheur Wildlife Refuge in Burns, Oregon, by a group led by Ammon Bundy—yes, of those Bundys—was supposed to have focused attention on the plight of a rancher family that has been fighting decades-long efforts by federal officials to drive them off their land. Instead, this dramatic act of civil disobedience has done the opposite: amid debates over the Bundy family, their tactics, and ideology, the focus has been taken off the Hammond family, and their struggle to preserve their land and their way of life has been largely obscured. This is their story.

This July, the federal government sentenced Dwight and Steven Hammond to five years in jail, calling them “arsonal terrorists” for executing a controlled burn on federal land adjacent to their ranch in Oregon.

Just days later, President Barack Obama’s Bureau of Land Management was allegedly recorded doing an uncontrolled burn at nearby Prince Glenn, Oregon, burning cows alive. To make things worse, even though there was no supervision for most of the burn, the BLM threatened ranchers with arrest if they interfered or put out the fire.

This gruesome reality is what the Obama administration is doing as a form of revenge, thanks to the anti-rancher sentiment in the federal government, according to a video posted to YouTube in early December by Nevada rancher Ammon Bundy.

Bundy has been the ringleader behind the militia occupying the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge near Burns, Oregon. He said the Prince Glenn video proved the BLM has little regard for human or animal life and that the government is making war against the ranchers because it wants their land.

For instance, the video stated that most controlled burns are done in the late fall. However, this one was done in July, when most of the cows would be grazing on the grass. This makes it significantly more dangerous, given the fact that there is more foliage and a lot more cattle in the area.

“Basically, the BLM were burning the ranchers’ grass,” Bundy said in the video. “I want you to understand that this video was filmed less than two weeks from the day the Hammonds were sentenced for starting a fire themselves.”

The video, narrated by the person shooting it, also showed that the BLM was far more irresponsible than the Hammonds’ ever would be.

“Last night, nobody’s around, they lit the fire right here, close to everybody’s houses,” the narrator said, showing the desolate area with no officials or safety equipment to be seen. “We’re going to have a hell of a lot of fire come evening.”

While we can’t necessarily countenance the takeover of property that isn’t yours, it’s worth noting that Bundy and other supporters of the Hammonds have a point. While the BLM sees fit to persecute the Hammonds for a minor fire, the agency is more than willing to set major ones on its own — as retaliation — with no consequences
