Making Deals for Peace?
Providential History 1996 Mark Belisle and Steven McDowell

All external forms of democratic structure which we may attempt to promote in other lands are doomed to failure and will inevitably bring cries of American Imperialism or crisis of an attempt to exercise external control over other nations. Attempts to throw money at the acute problems with other nations when there is little understanding of christian self government in these lands is a large waste of resources. If a fraction of resources now spent on military hardware was spent on colonizing the idea of our founders then a proper foundation would be laid for the development of these lands.

The communists know the values of these ideas and for years have been colonizing their ideas which lead only to chaos and bondage. On the other hand, our political ideas under the Providence of God have achieved more civil and religious liberty and more self government and genuine prosperity than the world has ever known before.

To the humanist peace is really pacifism. My dictionary accurately defines “pacifism” as “opposition to war or to the use of military force for any purpose.” ...”an attitude of mind opposing all war and advocating settlement of international disputes entirely by arbitration.

” George North in “Healer of Nations” states: “When the Department of State was created by President Washington in 1789 the staff consisted of 6 persons. By 1870 the entire committee was only 53 persons in spite of the great expansion of our borders and our growth in population. Just 20 years later, by 1909, it grew to 202 persons and rapid expansion ensued after the world war.

By 1980 the figure last climbed to 23,497. this included over 3500 foreign service officers. (elite corps of specialists who staff our embassies).
