DNC leadership now officially over the edge
Democratic National Committee Deputy Chair Keith Ellison poses with Antifa book. Image via Twitter. |
If there is any question that the radical left has taken over the Democrat Party, the following two articles should erase all doubts. The DNC Chair, Tom Perez, has a troubled history with ethics and honesty, and has become completely unhinged at times
Now, we have the Deputy Chair, Keith Ellison, going off the rails with his support of a domestic terrorist group and accepting the support of another one calling for the bombing of Israel.
Unfortunately, far too many "real" Dems are simply unaware of what has happened to their party. Many who are older can see its descent into the abyss of a totalitarian, hate filled radicalism.
The Democrat party has been purged of moderates, centrists, and clear thinkers. It is past time for the aging ideologues to go.
The following two articles discuss Ellison's latest pronouncements.
DNC Deputy Chair Keith Ellison Poses with Antifa Book
By Debra Heine January 3, 2018
The deputy chair of the Democratic National Committee seemed to endorse Anarchist violence on Wednesday, when he tweeted a picture of himself grinning approvingly with a pro-Antifa book.
Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) posted a picture of himself holding “Antifa: The Anti-Fascist Handbook,” writing that the book would “strike fear in the heart” of President Donald Trump.
Antifa is a far-left anarchist group that is known for smashing storefronts, punching "Nazis" (aka people who aren't left wing), and setting things on fire.
The group uses violence to intimidate political opponents throughout the United States but especially in liberal strongholds like Berkeley, Portland, Boston and Philly.
The author of the book, Dartmouth professor Mark Bray, was also a spokesman for the Occupy Wall Street movement in 2011. He has come under fire from a New York City police union for expressing support for the virulently anti-cop group.
In his book, Bray makes clear that violence is in some circumstances justified, arguing that “militant anti-fascism is a reasonable, historically informed response to the fascist threat that persisted after 1945 and that has become especially menacing in recent years.”
In an appearance on C-SPAN last year, Bray defended Antifa's violence against fellow Americans by calling it "preemptive self-defense." more

Anti-Israel group official openly advocates for violence, gave $2,500 to Ellison in 2017

An official at the anti-Israel American Muslims for Palestine group who openly advocates for violence against the Jewish state contributed $2,500 to Democratic Party leader Rep. Keith Ellison (Minn.) last year, according to campaign disclosure documents.
The contribution from Taher Herzallah, AMP's associate director of outreach and grassroots organizing, came in March 2017 shortly after Ellison was named the Democratic National Committee's deputy chairman.
Herzallah is best known as one of the "Irvine 11," a group of students who were sentenced to three years probation for actions taken to disrupt a 2010 speech by then-Israeli ambassador Michael Oren. He more recently—just a few weeks before his contribution to Ellison—was arrested for disrupting confirmation hearings for U.S. ambassador to Israel David Friedman.
Herzallah has in recent years openly advocated for using violence to destroy Israel, saying in 2014 that "the State of Israel is a lie" and "Israelis have to be bombed." continue
