Huge turnouts: 320 PPs protested in 50 states
In the midst of the unfolding baby body parts selling scandal, thousands of Americans gathered outside more than 320 Planned Parenthood facilities across the country in hopes of ultimately shutting down the world’s largest abortion provider.
American Family Association co-sponsored the National Day of Protest against Planned Parenthood protest movement with 50 other pro-family organizations Saturday morning, joining the pro-life groups — Citizens for a Pro-Life Society, Created Equal, 40 Days for Life, and the Pro-Life Action League — that organized the rallies using the trending topics #ProtestPP and #PPSellsBodyParts to get the word out.
Why has it taken undercover videos to energize people to turn out in droves at Planned Parenthood protests?

On the wake of another uncovered atrocity
As LifeNews.com announces an eighth video released by the Center for Medical Progress, which recently hit the Internet with StemExpress’ CEO admitting that Planned Parenthood sells fully intact aborted babies, multitudes of Americans showed up between 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. Saturday to get the government to stop giving half a billion tax dollars to the abortion giant annually. The video, which is the eighth of a dozen being released by the pro-life group, also reportedly uncovers Planned Parenthood selling babies after being born alive at their abortion facilities.
The eighth video shows StemExpress CEO Cate Dyer laughing over buying and receiving shipments of fully intact aborted babies being from Planned Parenthood.
“Oh yeah, if you have intact cases — which we’ve done a lot — we sometimes ship those back to our lab in its entirety,” Dyer told an undercover operative in the eighth video. “Tell the lab it’s [a shipment of intact unborn babies] coming. They don’t want to open the box and go ‘Oh, my god.'”
Higher turnouts than expected
Pro-life advocates from all 50 states and Washington, D.C., are sending a message loud and clear that they will no longer tolerate the government funding more than 700 Planned Parenthoods that routinely kill preborn babies for one profit and then sell their bodies for a bonus monetary gain. Most protests reported participation many times over what they expected.
An emcee at a protest outside a Planned Parenthood abortion facility in Richmond, Virginia, said the turnouts have been much greater than expected, as people are outraged over the recently divulged atrocities of selling baby parts and performing late-term abortions, which hit the Internet over the past few weeks.
"We had over 500 people here and that's great,” said Leslie Blackwell, who serves as the regional co-coordinator with the pro-life Silent No More Awareness Campaign, according to the Christian Post. “Usually, you're lucky to get 10. At Forty Days for Life, sometimes you might get 20, but never the crowds like this. It’s been exciting — just nonstop response."
Even though hours of video and audio coverage have accompanied each of the eight videos released on the Internet so far, Planned Parenthood continues to deny the incriminating evidence brought against it, contending that the recordings were doctored and manipulatively edited to meet pro-life interests.
Just getting the word out
All of the few hundred protests that took place Saturday were peaceful and informative in nature, as one organizer of the National Day of Protest emphasized that its purpose is strictly to educate people about what is really taking place behind Planned Parenthood’s doors.
"Our primary message is the shocking revelation that Planned Parenthood sells baby parts,” Pro-Life Action League Executive Director Eric J. Scheidler told the Christian Post Saturday. “While this story has dominated the pro-life and Christian press over the past month, many regular Americans have still never heard about it."
Scheidler argues that pro-life advocates shouldn’t be the only ones concerned about what’s happening, as hundreds of millions of taxpayers are paying for the illicit procedures and profit-making transactions routinely taking place inside Planned Parenthood clinics.
"They deserve to know the truth about Planned Parenthood, an organization that receives over half a billion dollars every year from taxpayers,” the pro-life leader explained. “It is time for this corrupt organization to be deprived of all taxpayer funding and investigated by the U.S. Justice Department."
AFA President Tim Wildmon agreed that Americans who believe in the sanctity of human life need to support the efforts against Planned Parenthood and put an end to the atrocities that are being funded daily by their tax dollars.
“These extremely disturbing videos detailing the murderous practices of Planned Parenthood are being largely ignored by the mainstream media, so action must be taken by the American people — and they are stepping up,” Wildmon expressed.
Organizers speak out across America
A speaker at a Planned Parenthood protest in Louisville, Kentucky, told a crowd of over 500 pro-life advocates that abortion has no place in reproductive health care.
“I spoke about the importance of defunding Planned Parenthood,” Capote told Breitbart News. “It’s important that women have health care that does not fund abortion.”
Capote says Planned Parenthood treats human life as though it is a lifeless commodity.
“Planned Parenthood believes babies are worth more dead than alive,” he continued. “Women and children are not for sale. Planned Parenthood should not be allowed to continue to treat children like a commodity.”
The pro-life activist asserts that the recent set of videos going viral on the Internet serve as a glaring testimony and reminder about what Americans have been ignoring and apathetic toward for decades.
“We continue to see this through the videos by Center for Medical Progress, that children are being dismembered and cut up so their organs can be harvested for profit,” Capote noted. “I told those attending the protest in Louisville that any candidate running for office who does not publicly denounce Planned Parenthood and call for its defunding are complicit in the abortion organization’s policies.”
An organizer gathering pro-lifers together at the Falls Church, Virginia, Planned Parenthood abortion center also proclaimed that the recent set of shocking videos should incite Americans to say, “I’ve seen enough!”
“I saw the Planned Parenthood videos and felt the need to act,” pro-life activist Theresa King shared with Breitbart News at her #ProtestPP rally. “As a kid, I would pray outside of abortion clinics, and my mom always said that we were giving the babies the only funeral they would ever have, so I felt the need to stand for the babies in the video, but for all the babies that have died in abortion.”
King anticipated 100 pro-lifers showing up to her Virginia rally and was pleasantly surprised when more than 800 came ready to participate — many taking part in the pro-life movement for their first time.
“These videos have really brought a lot to light and have convinced people to become active,” the new pro-life organizer added. “I’ve never done anything like this, and I look forward to many more, as other people are in the same boat. We are here to be a voice for both the babies and the women.”
One organizer of a Planned Parenthood protest event in Providence, Rhode Island, shared that approximately 500 showed up at the Providence Planned Parenthood — a number that exceeded her expectations.
“Planned Parenthood’s gruesome sale of fetal body parts has also demonstrated that there is a vibrant pro-life presence even in hardcore liberal Democratic places like Rhode Island,” said Center for Family & Human Rights (C-Fam) Senior Vice President Susan Yoshihara, whose pro-life group organized the event with the Diocese of Providence.
Yoshihara noted that abortion providers at the abortion clinic did all they could to keep the pro-life message from getting out.
“[More than a dozen] Planned Parenthood staff in pink T-shirts appeared on the steps of their building with an iPhone and small speaker tinning out Blind Melon tracks to distract protesters.” The pro-life VP reported. “The facade of Planned Parenthood’s public perception as a beacon for women’s health has been peeled back in the last few weeks. The videos showed Planned Parenthood clinicians admitting they put women at greater risk, turning unborn children breech to be delivered feet first, in order to make sure the brain could be harvested for sale.”
