The War Between the States

The War Between the States had both positive and negative results,. The Providential result of the war was abolishing slavery and preserving the Union. While these were great benefits many negative results occurred due to the war and the following decades of the reconstruction of the South. Although the United States remained one nation under God and slavery was abolished, the war was brought about due to the sin of the nation in the first place and the rise of an ungodly element in America excited a great influence in the reconstruction period. A number of negative things followed the war between the states. After the war an ungodly radical element gained control of the congress.

They wanted to centralize power and shape the nation according to their philosophy. They used their post war control of congress to reconstruct the South and in many ways accomplished their goals by placing the 14th Amendment into the Constitution.
 Amendment 14 (1868) “Section 1
All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state where they reside, No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty, or property without due process of the law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the law.

(already in Bill of Rights) (section 2 and 3 changes voting in reps and section 4 forbids questioning the validity of public debt. Section 5 gives all power to Congress over the states. This takes away the 10th Amendment in the Bill of Rights which declares all not written in the Constitution is left to the States and the people. 

(In my opinion the 14th Amendment is unconstitutional and therefore null and void.) PLS Another negative aspect in the reconstruction after the civil war was the fact that the blacks became even more bitter than ever before. It has taken over 100 years for the scars, devastation and biases to be healed. While these negative effects have in many ways been overcome, the increase in the power of our national government has not been abated but continues to grow and reach far beyond its Constitutional authority.

Checkerboard of Life:

The rat crept from his corner on the checkerboard of Life...adorned with wings of angels as he claimed to conquer strife. He jumped the little checker men who dared to take a stand. Then crowned the others King men who moved at his command. He nibbled at the Big Cheese till they rushed to do his will...then slivered to his corner while his purpose they fulfilled. 

Throughout the Little Checker Towns nobody understood. The darkness seemed as daylight and the bad looked like the good.---- But High above the Checker Board the Maker of them all...who watches with His Two Edged Sword wills not that one should fall. With every move the rat has made He’s been one move ahead, His eyelids search...He tries the hearts...through each square, black or red. He sees the Big and Little Cheese and names them all by name.
It’s not who wins or loses moves! It’s WHO DESIGNED THIS GAME!
