We’ve all known that Barack Obama isn’t big on the idea of separation of powers. Many times, most notably onillegal immigration and gun rights, our commander in chief has tried to use extraconstitutional methods to get around the concept of checks and balances.

However, if one Democrat representative’s account is correct, the president may be preparing for the biggest constitutional end-around of his career. And to make matters worse, it’s on the Iran nuclear deal.

After a White House briefing with the president, California Rep. Brad Sherman said the president might be prepared to go “beyond what’s allowed by law” to make sure the Iran deal becomes law.

Sherman told reporters that Obama was ready to ignore Congress were it to not approve the deal. In a meeting with Democrats, the president warned them that any attempt to stop the president’s dangerous deal would be met with intransigence by the White House.

“The main meat of what he said is, ‘If Congress overrides my veto, you do not get a U.S. foreign policy that reflects that vote. What you get is you pass this law and I, as president, will do everything possible to go in the other direction,’” Sherman said.

“He’s with the deal — he’s not with Congress,” Rep. Sherman added. “At least to the fullest extent allowed by law, and possibly beyond what’s allowed by law.” (H/T The Blaze)

While Obama’s previous forays into constitutional abrogation have been appalling, their ramifications were mostly felt at home. This time, Obama’s ill intentions not only affect us, but the entire Middle East and beyond.

Perhaps most deeply affected would be Israel, a state which could feasibly be wiped off the face of the planet thanks to Obama’s nuclear appeasement.

Unlike the president and his administration, Congress seems relatively united to strike down any plan that would endanger Israel — and yet, the president seems determined to ignore the Constitution yet again, deciding that he knows better than the Founders.

It’s time that both Congress and the Supreme Court held this president to account for his willingness to ignore the Constitution, before the results turn apocalyptic.
