Again, by jumping to conclusions, the MSM widened its credibility gap

A few bacon strips to go with that egg?
When will the MSM learn to fact check before "reporting" their hot scoops from Mr. Unnamed Sources.
Obviously, true journalism is now not even a shadow of its former self, it has disappeared altogether.
From now on, one would be wise to ignore any "bombshell" revelations and wait a few days. The story will undoubtedly change!

Media Wrong Again: The RUSSIANS – Not Kushner – Wanted Back Channel
By : shawn
If a new Fox News story is accurate, it explains a lot about the seemingly-baffling story that emerged last week about Jared Kushner and the Russians. And it also shows you just how quickly the mainstream media jumped to unwarranted conclusions about their ill-researched “scoop.”

The story, as presented originally by the Washington Post, looked somewhat damning for the Trump administration. At the very least, it made it look like Kushner and Michael Flynn were up to no good – perhaps behind the president-elect’s back. Why would they try to set up a secretive back-channel communications line with Russia at a time when there was so much heat on Moscow’s involvement in the 2016 election? At the very least, the move seemed impossibly naive. At worst, it was downright nefarious.

But according to Fox News, it was not KUSHNER who tried to set up the back channel; it was Russian ambassador Sergei Kislyak. The meeting, in December, was set up to discuss the incoming Trump administration’s views on the Syrian civil war.

From the report:

During the meeting the Russians broached the idea of using a secure line between the Trump administration and Russia, not Kushner, a source familiar with the matter told Fox News.

The idea of a permanent back channel was never discussed, according to the source. Instead, only a one-off for a call about Syria was raised in the conversation. In addition, the source told Fox News the December meeting focused on Russia’s contention that the Obama administration’s policy on Syria was deeply flawed. The source has told Fox News that Kushner is eager to tell Congress about the meeting and any others of interest.

So. That, as they say, is a horse of a different color. If it went down this way, what we have is a president-elect who said numerous times on the campaign trail that he was not interested in pursuing the Washington establishment’s traditional stance on Putin and Russia. And, to make sure he could implement a new agenda on Day One, he wanted to talk to the Russians and get a sense of where our two nations could find a point of compromise in Syria. And he had to do this while Obama was running around slapping sanctions on Moscow and trying to make it sound like it was only through Russian espionage that Trump was able to win the election in the first place.

Every time the mainstream media drops a “bombshell” about Russia, it fizzles out into a wet firework a few days later. You have to start wondering how they’re going to explain it to the country if ALL of it turns out to be so much fictitious nonsense. There are going to be a lot of reporters with egg on their faces before this is all said and done.
