Don't They Get It, The Race Card Is Now In Shreds

Seriously, this is getting way too old and has lost any legitimacy, it may or may not have had, concerning his actions. Bringing race up, especially now, is an absolute sign of sheer desperation. If that is all he's got, he's got nuthin'.

The day before taking his family on another extravagant Hawaiian vacation, President Obama sat down with NPR’s Steve Inskeep to once again take a shot at White America. When Inskeep asked if there was a racial component to the criticism he’d received as president, Obama gladly took the bait.

“If you are referring to specific strains in the Republican Party that suggest that somehow I’m different, I’m Muslim, I’m disloyal to the country, etc. – which unfortunately is pretty far out there, and gets some traction in certain pockets of the Republican Party, and that have been articulated by some of their elected officials – what I’d say there is that that’s probably pretty specific to me, and who I am and my background,” Obama said. “In some ways, I may represent change that worries them.”

Hoping to deflect the obvious response to this, Obama added as an afterthought: “That’s not to suggest that everybody who objects to my policies may not have perfectly good reasons for it.”

You know, if you’re a black Democrat, for instance.

Obama also addressed the rise of Donald Trump, telling NPR that the Republican frontrunner was exploiting economic rage among blue-collar American workers.

“They are no longer getting the same bargain that they got when they were going to a factory and able to support their families on a single paycheck,” Obama said. “You combine those things, and it means that there is going to be potential anger, frustration, fear – some of it justified, but just misdirected. I think somebody like Mr. Trump is taking advantage of that. That’s what he’s exploiting during the course of his campaign.”

Funny how when a Republican addresses real concerns, they’re “exploiting” voter rage but when a Democrat plays the race card, they’re merely evaluating the lay of the land as it is.

With only a year left on his White House residency, it almost breaks your heart to see such an amazing opportunity flushed down the toilet. The first black president could have been a man of soaring motivation and unprecedented inspiration. There was hardly a chance that Obama was going to singlehandedly erase racism from the American landscape, but who could have foreseen a situation where he would have made it worse?

Well, just about anyone who knows what the Democratic Party is all about. This party doesn’t succeed based on the merits of their ideas, they succeed based on emotional pleas that encourage a victimhood mentality among minorities of any and all stripes. They pit races and genders and religions against each other, and then have the audacity to sit back and accuse the other side of being divisive. It’s astonishing. But even more astonishing is the fact that it actually works.
